leader: white house responsible for bosnian tragedy (14.7.1993)

Tehran, july 14, irna -- leader of the Islamic revolution ayatollah ali khamenei on wednesday held big powers' moral corruption, hypocrisy and equivocation responsible for the massacre of a Muslim nation at the heart of europe. "while the savage, racist and fascist serbs are dealing blows on innocent bosnian people, world powers are fooling the world public opinion through rhetoric. this stems from their corrupt nature," the leader told a visiting group of people. ayatollah khamenei said the arrogant nature of the u.s. administration emanated from its moral corruption, adding that the way americans were treating other nations proved that they lacked human qualities such as love for mankind and fairness. "the u.s. administration which has resorted to all vicious and satanic means to put pressure on the Islamic republic of iran is itself an immoral system," the supreme leader said. washington's hostility against the Islamic republic and the outrageous cheap talks of new faces in the u.s. administration about iran indicate the fact that by disclosing their real nature, the ruling clique in washington is inexperienced, simple-minded and politically immature, he said. elsewhere in his speech, the leader of the Islamic revolution said that the 'death to america' slogan now echoes throughout the country. "the naivety and immaturity of american statesmen reveal the fact that they have not yet realized that satanic actions against iran will produce nothing but further disgrace for the u.s. officials," the ayatollah made it clear. ayatollah khamenei expressed confidence that the white house will be defeated in its confrontation with the Islamic republic and vowed "as we have learned from the revolution and the late imam, we will vigorously continue treading the path of Islam." the supreme leader said the 8-year iraqi imposed war and all sorts of pressure put on iran by the baathist regime, backed by washington, and the former soviet union served to enhance the dignity and resistance of the iranian people.
